The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta was one of the most highly anticipated models of the year, and we finally got our first look at it at the 2018 North American International Auto Show this year in Detroit.
Completely redesigned, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta has a brand new design both inside and out that gives it an elegant look. Additionally, it comes with a host of new safety and connectivity technologies, a more spacious interior, and a new platform. There’s a lot to love about the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta, and it’s set to hit the market later this year.
A New Platform Leads to a Host of Improvements in the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta
Most of these improvements can be attributed to the brand new MQB platform, which now serves as the starting point for the new 2019 Jetta. This new platform means a spacious interior and even better driving dynamics. The MQB increases the wheelbase, which means more space for passengers, better handling, and a more poised, comfortable ride.
Under the hood, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta will be powered by the same 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that was available in the previous Jetta. If Volkswagen decided to bring this engine back, it’s because it offers the most torque in its segment, and is modern as well as fuel-efficient. This is even more true thanks to the addition of an 8-speed automatic gearbox. A 6-speed manual transmission is still standard.
Inside the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta, buyers will find a luxurious interior. The 2019 Jetta features a new dashboard design, plenty of safety and connectivity technologies, and exclusive features like a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit. There’s truly a lot to love about the new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta.
